Authoring software is used to integrate elements together to create a presentation. There is a variety of authoring software available, some specializes in creation of very interactive educational presentation. For example the makers of that infamous television show South Park use Director to create their presentation. Director has capabilities of being interactive but in the case of South Park gives no navigational options, it flows from one frame to the next giving the viewer no choices. Other packages are used more in the business world to deliver presentation that in the past would have been presented using overheads.

Multimedia presentations demand a range of hardware to process and display them depending on their design. Their creation requires a range of input, processing and output devices depending on what elements they contain. Consider what input and output devices might be required to create a presentation with text, sound and graphics. List eight (four) input and output devices.
